Wimbledon businesswomen celebrated at Number 10

Two esteemed businesswomen from Wimbledon Village, boasting over 50 years of combined experience, have recently been recognised for their outstanding contributions. These remarkable women were invited to attend exclusive receptions at 10 Downing Street.

Nicky Green, renowned as the first-ever landlady for Young's Pubs, has been a dedicated fixture at the Rose & Crown for two decades. She attended a reception hosted by the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, the Rt Hon Laura Trott MBE MP. Reflecting on her experience, Nicky shared, "I was thrilled to be nominated by Danielle to attend No.10 recently and meet so many inspiring women across various sectors. It was an incredible opportunity, and I hope others also get the chance to experience it."

Thanyarat 'Nicky' Santichatsak, the proud owner of the beloved Thai Tho restaurant, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, was invited to an event with the Minister for Faith, Baroness Scott of Bybrook OBE. Expressing her gratitude, Thanyarat said, "It was an honour to be invited and attend a reception at No.10. Thank you to Danielle and to all our loyal customers for your continued support. This recognition means so much to us."

Danielle Dunfield-Prayero, the Conservative Party Candidate, highlighted the critical role of local businesses in the community, stating, "Wimbledon & the Maldens is a fantastic place to live, work, and visit, and that is in no small part due to our brilliant local businesses, which are the backbone of our community. I'm committed to supporting them by fostering business collaboration, lowering business rates, boosting high-street footfall, and implementing work-ready programmes to aid local hiring."

She concluded, "By working together, we can help small businesses thrive, preserve our high streets, and strengthen our vibrant area for a stronger economy. Our local businesses are the heart of our community, and their success is our success."

The recognition of these two businesswomen not only highlights their personal achievements but also underscores the vibrant and supportive business environment in Wimbledon Village. Their dedication and hard work serve as an inspiration to many, reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives within the community.
